Programs & Events
The Kansas and Western Missouri Region of FIRST helps to coordinate the formation of student teams and hosts various seminars and events leading up to the annual Greater Kansas City Regional for the FIRST Robotics Competition and an annual FIRST LEGO League competition.

Volunteers, mentors, and sponsors from around the region help the students during the year to learn skills necessary to build their robots and to put on the competition events. Through the volunteers and generous sponsors resources and funding for this rewarding learning experience are realized.

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is for High School students to design and build a remote control robot. FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is for students aged 9-14. The build a programmable robot built from a LEGO™ MindStorms™ kit to solve multiple design challenges.
         
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is another program for High School students. The Kansas and Western Missouri Region does not host a competition but there are events in nearby regions.
  Jr. FLL is the program for students ages 6-9.This program teaches the basics of programmable robots using the LEGO™ MindStorms™ kit.
