WHO: More than 1,000 high school students representing 54 teams from around the region, participating for a chance to win regional awards and advance to the FIRST World Championship.
WHAT: Greater Kansas City Regional FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC)

THE GAME: Teams have just six weeks to build a robot to compete using a kit of parts provided by FIRST and a standard set of rules. The 2015 game, RECYCLE RUSH℠, is played by two Alliances of three teams each—competing in fast-paced matches with student-operated robots—working together to score points by stacking and moving recycling containers and tossing away trash.
PHOTO/INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES: Students testing, tuning up, and competing with their robots— coaches, mentors, team mascots, volunteers—PLUS hundreds and hundreds of fans.
