This Season's Challenge

In the 2021-2022 season, FIRST® FORWARDSM presented by Qualcomm, FIRST® teams will explore the future of transportation. From the shipment of packages in rural and urban areas, to disaster relief delivery and high-tech air transit, teams will re-imagine faster, more reliable, inclusive, and sustainable transportation innovations that better connect and grow communities and economies around the world.

This Season's Updates

For 2022, we are planning as close to a “normal” season as possible including in-person events.

FLL Explore Showcases will take place at each of our FIRST Robotics Competition Regionals.

Heartland Regional – March 19, 2022 – Olathe South High School – Olathe, KS

Greater KC Regional – March 26, 2022 – Lee’s Summit North High School – Lee’s Summit, MO

Central MO Regional – April 2, 2022 – Smith-Cotton High School – Sedalia, MO

Complete your 2021-2022 FIRST® LEGO® Explore season registration before September 30, 2021, for a chance to win a LEGO Education SPIKE Essential technology set.

EXPO INFORMATION

Showcases in our Region

Showcases are non-competitive three-hour events where teams celebrate their hard work, make new friendships and share their projects with the community.

Each team will participate in a 10 to 15-minute Question and Answer session with two judges to present their Show Me poster and mission model.

Showcase schedule:

9:30 am to 10:00 am – Arrival and Setup
10:00 am to 11:30 am – Judging
11:30 am to 11:45 am – Judge deliberation
12:00 pm to 12:30pm – Awards ceremony
12:30 pm – Clean up and depart

FIRST LEGO League Explore Official Showcase dates are:

March 19, 2022 at Olathe South High School in Olathe, KS

March 26, 2022 at Lee’s Summit North High School in Lee’s Summit, MO

April 2, 2022 at Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO

Showcases are free for teams but registration is required to hold your spot. All events are open to the public at no charge.

Registration for Showcases

To register for a Showcase, please contact Chrissy Chandler. Showcases are free to official FIRST LEGO League Explore teams but you must to register to hold your spot.

When registering, please be aware:

  • You must have your official (not temporary) FIRST LEGO League Explore team number available.
  • The team name you provide will be the name used at the event.
  • Times vary.
  • Once a venue is full, it will no longer be available.
  • After you have registered for a Showcase and registration has closed, your event manager will contact you with details, approximately one week before the event.

Showcase Cancellation Policy

Events for our region are booked and scheduled in advance. Event hosts have the authority to cancel an event if the host facility determines conditions to be unsafe. This policy applies to inclement weather or any other public safety issue. If an event is not cancelled, it is up to the discretion of the parents and coach to determine if they will attend. If an event is cancelled, teams are encouraged to register for another Festival if space is available.

Can our team attend more than one Showcase?

At this time, please register for just one Showcase in our region.

There are no FLL Explore Showcases at FLL Challenge Qualifiers for the 2021-2022 season.
